1. Fill out the application form listed on the website, the application form will ask questions; Full name, age, country travelling from, food allergies, medical conditions the organization should be aware of, full medical qualifications, home address, email addresses, phone number, details of guardian or significant other, why they would like to travel to Ghana and provide medical aid to the communities, what dates would they like to volunteer and for how long, must provide a police clearance or a background check, volunteers must read the terms and conditions legal document. 

2. A confirmation email will be sent from a staff member or owner of Freedom for Health Asuogyaman. The organization will review all information and reply with confirmation or rejection of application. Once the application has been confirmed, the volunteer must pay their program fee up front for the number of weeks they plan on volunteering. Payments will be made through the donation portal on the website, a receipt number will be provided to the volunteer and email confirmation. The volunteers are always welcome to extend their stay when they arrive in the country. 

3. Freedom for Health Asuogyaman will send via email all appropriate information and program guide for the duration of their stay in Ghana in PDF form. 

4. Volunteers will book flights, insurance and VISA. Volunteers will provide a copy of their itinerary, yellow fever vaccination certificate, travel insurance, visa and passport photo so we can identify them on arrival. All copies will be sent via email to FHA. The volunteer must sign and send the letter of terms and conditions to volunteer with FHA. 

5. Final inquiries and information will be sent between the volunteer and staff members before leaving for Ghana. Volunteers must bring paper copies of their application form, passport, yellow fever certification, driver’s license or other identification, visa, itinerary.


 

Visas

Visas will be requested as a tourist visa for a maximum of three months from their local Ghanaian embassy in their home country.

Volunteers will need four passport sized photographs to apply for the visa and the ability to pay approximately $120.00 USD for the visa process.

In the event of volunteers staying longer than three months they will have to apply for an impermanent citizenship in the immigration services within Accra. FHA will provide a letter stating the address, contact numbers and reasons why the volunteers are staying for a long duration. With the help of the Department of Health and immigration, extensions for the volunteer’s visa will not be a problem.


Cost

Volunteers will purchase their flights, VISA, travel insurance, enough money to stay two nights in Accra and a weekly program fee.

The weekly program fee with everything included is $250.00 USD. Program fees need to be payed prior to arrival using the donation portal within the website. The program fee will cover; food, accommodation, medical supplies, drinking water and transportation.

The money for the two nights in Accra will ensure all volunteers flying in on those dates will travel together as a group to Frankadua. 

Accommodation in Accra (Crystal Rock Hotel in Oyarifa) before arriving on site in Frankadua is $100 USD and located ~45 minutes from the airport.
